🏠 B&Bs, guesthouses & apartments
The historic centre has many B&Bs and restored apartments, often with more character and lower prices than hotels. Popular options with excellent reviews include Dimora Fortebraccio, San Marciano Luxury Rooms, Residenza San Flaviano, and Antica Dimora San Crisante.
Short-term rentals are also available via Booking.com and Airbnb — especially useful for groups or longer stays.
💡 Tips for choosing
If you arrive by coach
Hotels in the historic centre (Hotel Castello, Hotel L’Aquila, Federico II, 99 Cannelle) are within walking distance of the Collemaggio Bus Terminal and the venue — no taxi needed. Hotel Castello is the closest option: just 2 minutes on foot from the Congress Hall.
If you arrive by car
The centre is largely a ZTL (limited-traffic zone). Hotels outside the old town (My Suite, La Dimora del Baco, Canadian) offer free parking and easy motorway access.
If you arrive at the Amiternum stop
My Suite Hotel and Madi City Hotel are on the SS 17, close to the Amiternum coach stop — very convenient if your bus terminates there rather than at Collemaggio.

L’Aquila — Italian Capital of Culture 2026. The city is experiencing a tourism revival, with many historic buildings now fully restored after the 2009 earthquake. Demand for accommodation in June may be higher than usual. Early booking is strongly recommended.
Getting around: the historic centre is compact and walkable. Local bus services are operated by AMA L’Aquila. Taxis are available at the main squares and can be called on demand.
